Long Week 2
And here is the rest of what I’ve been up to today.
More Creatures! I’m also making a forest photo prop out of dowels, but only a few of the trees are finished.
And I’ve just signed a contract to have some of my creatures sold at another store. Hopefully I can get a few sales through there. The links will be posted when the store is finally up and running. (supposedly early...

Long Week
This week has been very long. Woke up monday with a nasty sore throat and spent a couple of days getting worse before it started to go away.
Today, however, has been very productive.
I finished my painting of Sophie, my dog.
I’ll post better photos when I have them.
Here’s a slightly blurry close-up…
and the original photo i worked from…(yes, thats a bird she...

Another In-Progress
Here is another photo of the two headed cat. The basic form is finally looking like it should and I can begin working on the details and filling in some of the rougher areas. The ears, however, will be the last thing added. Ears are too easy to smash and deform while handling the rest of the piece.

In progress work...
Here is my cat sculpture with more work done to it. The beginning layers of clay have been added, and wire is twisted around the front legs to add a little support. The heads have had more foil added to start to shape them correctly.
Here is a bear that has all the basic clay layer added, and now the details are being added.

Two-Headed Cats
I love that my two-headed cat is the most popular item in my etsy shop.
So I have decided to make another one, in a different style.
This is the sketch that I started with.
The next step is to build an armature out of wire and aluminum foil.
At this point there is still a lot of work to be done, but the basic shape is ready to have clay added. I am thinking the details on this one might...

Sorry for the lack of updates, but life has been hectic in a way that only life can be.
Christmas was great, even with all the running around, cooking, family gatherings and lack of downtime. New Year’s was supposed to be more relaxing.
Four days after Christmas, my uncle passed away. We had to pack up and head out of town. The funeral was December 31st.
This photo was taken at...

Prints!
My prints are here, and they are lovely.
Four of them are Giclee prints on somerset velvet paper, and two printed on metallic photo paper.
Six prints, ranging from a 4 x 5 to a 9 x 12, propped up in my messy studio.
The company I used is wonderful. There are no setup fees and you provide your own scans and photos to be printed; so there are no scanning fees either. There is also no minimum...
